“The location is probably the lone bright spot with this hotel. The rooms were poorly renovated, I am guessing this was probably done based on the numerous names that come up when looking at this hotel. Extremely slow check-in process, no real amenities and the toilet hadn't been flushed and had pee on the seat still. They did at least come and clean it after we called. The bar always seemed to be closed in the lobby. The worst part was our last night and a half, the a/c went out in our room. It wasn't just our room though, there were multiple people in the lobby complaining about it. We told them in the morning before we left for the day, came back to a room even hotter than when we left it. We called again to have them fix it or move us. An hour later the building engineer showed up and showed us a switch we could flip to reset the unit. Said he had 13 other calls for the same issue he had to get to and that was it. This would have been fine if it worked... It only worked for about 5 minutes at a time. They knew about this issue all day and made no effort to call a repair company and actually address the issue. We had to sleep miserably in a room with no air. The only compensation they offered was to comp the room for the last night, mind you the air went out the night before in the middle of the night, which we told them. Then after we checked out, we got hit with another $300 charge for amenity/fees from the hotel that we didn't know about. We were told that this was part of the agreement through the booking service we used. I still haven't found the fine print that states this, and the hotel has done nothing to right the ship. So, that free night they gave us was completely negated by this charge after we checked out. I would strongly advise anyone looking for a hotel in downtown Chicago, DO NOT STAY HERE! It is not worth the semi appealing price point.”
