“The most overrated hotel on planet earth. Furniture all chipped, personal safe and AC literally from the 80s. Carpet so old and stained. Park view rooms aren’t park view, they’re views of the car park in front of the hotel. Breakfast selection is limited and the only quality products are the pastries. The pancakes and waffles are so dry. On numerous occasions I’d call the reception and no one would answer at all. Poor service. The only good thing about the hotel is the view by the Bosphorus. The worst value for money 1200 euros I’ve ever spent in my life.”

“Absolutely disastrous condition of the room at a price of 2000 euros.
- In the bathroom, the shower glazing was leaking because a seal was broken. After one person took a shower, the whole floor of the bathroom was flooded
- The towel rack in the shower was totally bent and did not hold the towel properly.
- The drawers in the bathroom had very worn linings. This rounded out the disastrous condition of the bathroom.
- In the sleep reach the carpet was very dirty. Walking on it without shoes hygienically unacceptable.
- In addition the wooden floor was poorly repaired in several places and had holes.
- The TV showed a very weak picture, on which unfortunately nothing could be seen. Also information about the hotel was not readable.
- The balcony door could be closed. However, the locking of the door was defective. A reliable locking of the room was thus not guaranteed.
- Both key cards of the room opened the room after 12 to 15 attempts - very uncomfortable!
The best at the end: Due to a city marathon the next morning, we were recommended to check out at 5 am (!), because the hotel would not be accessible by cab later. Such a restriction should be announced before booking!
All together, list of defects is absolutely unacceptable for a hotel and a room in this price range.
Unfortunately, I just got as a reaction to the description of these grievances an offer for an upgrade at the next stay in this awful hotel, which I will certainly never redeem.
In my opinion, this is absolutely insufficient. Also an email to the office of Kempinski in Munich resulted in no usable reaction.
So, if you plan to visit Istanbul, do book another place!”
