“A hotel to Avoid, total disaster: 1. Check-in - Tried to check in at 5pm and was told by sorry there are no rooms available and there is nothing that can be done at the moment. Check-in staff ware rude and when I complained about there being no rooms available they were totally dismissive and I was told to complain to the manager. After a tiring 4 hour journey this attitude is totally unacceptable. I eventually got at room after 45 minutes of arguing.. 2. Room - Room actually was ok although but not totally clean in the bathroom. However, later on just before going out to dinner reservation we discovered the safe was not working. A safe is essential for us as we had our passports, cash and about $4000 worth of watches, and computers with us. Rang reception and was told that they would send someone but could not tell me when because maintenance were very busy and also they were very busy in reception. After waiting 20 minutes rang up several times again and was told the same thing. Several attempts later and after 40 minutes someone from maintenance arrived and had to change the safe. This whole episode delayed us for over an hour and meant we had to rebook out dinner reservation. It seems there was only one maintenance person on duty for a hotel with over 400 rooms. 3. Bar: - There is no manned bar! We wanted a glass of wine but had to go to the restaurant and ask someone there if we could have some wine. After 20 minutes of waiting, two glasses of wine were eventually given to us which we had to drink it at a table by the entrance to the restaurant. 4. Breakfast - decided not to have at the hotel as it looked very busy, disorganised and would have only added to our stress levels. 5. Overall - Could have been such a nice stay but hotel was busy, noisy and clearly had seen better days. Additionally our stay was spoilt by overstretched staff who were on the most part rude and dismissive and lacked even the most basic customer service ethos. The management need to get a grip and sort this out.”

Also the elevator is really strange - you need to insert a card to go up but it's always doesn't work. The rooms are nice and clean, but if you need to use WI-FI for work it's a bad choice.”

the hotel is very old and dirty, the staff is not helpful, the room is in a terrible state, the door cards are demagnetized all the time and they have to be changed twice a day. elevators are terrible. in four days our room was cleaned once, and only after three requests for it! breakfast has disgusting coffee and everything is very dirty, including dishes. this is the worst Novotel I've ever been to! avoid this hotel

Elevators don't work properly; lobby smells; carpets are disgusting in the hallways but lucky my room had hardwood floors. I do not know if all rooms have hardwood floors. Bed was softer than I prefer. Room had safe but no iron or hair dryer

The service was good but they need ton invest in the rooms. The Bed was incredibly hard. The hot water took more than 5 minuts to come. The key of the door kept demagnetizing.

Excellent hotel. Beautiful well-maintained modernist landmark building in a great location and expertly managed by one of the top French Hospitality firms. You can't go wrong. Stay here if you can, better than others at twice the price.

Also the elevator is really strange - you need to insert a card to go up but it's always doesn't work. The rooms are nice and clean, but if you need to use WI-FI for work it's a bad choice.
