“Hotel rooms and corridors smell very bad, like dirty vacuum cleaners from 1952. Decor is nice, but was just slapped over an old building that was not actually updated so it’s like lipstick on a pig. Staff was rude and very unhelpful. There is also a $28/day “amenity” charge that they probably put in the smallest print somewhere at the bottom when you’re booking, which would be fine if they had any actual amenities but they do not. Location is ok if you’re going to an event downtown, but I would not choose this area if you are just visiting San Fran in general as it is a little dangerous, filthy and full of homeless people.”

“Great location and value. Plenty of good restaurants and shops around. Did not hear much street noise despite being in the middle of a busy city. The staff was super nice and friendly (probably what we enjoyed most about staying here).
There was a mix up when we checked in at the hotel. We booked a suite with a king bed, but received a normal room with a queen bed instead (the issue was eventually sorted out). The floor was creaky but it's expected of an old building.”
