Housed in a historic building with a central courtyard and fountain the eight-floor Hotel Senator has 136 rooms offering pillow menus CD stereos free Wi-Fi and flat-panel TVs. Non-smoking rooms are available and most rooms have sofas minibars and in-room safes. Sample the offerings on the breakfast buffet for a fee before you sample Madrid's many delights. The hotel also has a laundry facility and business center. Parking is available for a fee. The Hotel Senator is in the center of Madrid next to the Gran Via Metro station about a quarter-mile north of the Puerta del Sol. The heart of old Madrid the Plaza Mayor is a half-mile southwest and the Royal Palace is less than a mile west. The famous Prado Museum and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum are about a mile southeast and Madrid-Barajas Airport is nine miles northeast of the hotel.

“Do not stay at this hotel! We had such high expectations as it was very centrally located and looked beautiful. We made reservations directly through the hotel and selected the "Pay at the hotel" option due to covid concerns. Unfortunately, our flights were cancelled and we never made it to Madrid. However, the hotel still charged me and refused to even give me a partial refund. After much back and fourth they asked for supporting documents to look into my case. Then after giving them boarding passes, confirmation numbers, etc. they still stated that I didn't have a valid excuse to cancel my reservation and refused to give me my money back despite never having stayed at this hotel for something completely out of our control. This hotel may be beautiful but lacks empathy, respect, and genuine customer service for it's guests. Please do not give them your business and book your stay elsewhere.”
