“Arriving at the Hotel was very simple and the parking area was more than adequate. Even for a big Range Rover, that was very simple to park, and the drop-off point was very helpful. Normally, something like a car park is taken for granted, or if there wasn't one it can be quite annoying. Glad there was one, and it was surrounded by trees and this showed it was secluded and secure.
I wanted to write about the Reception Entrance experience first. Valley was on the desk, and was instantly polite and engaging and ensured that the car parking registration was taken care of first. She then proceeded to ensure that I had the most appropriate room for myself and my friend, and my god-children. This was without my prompting and she was keen to have a room with another room next-door with a walk-way in between. Fantastic service. She continued to ensure that the kids had a milk and cookie voucher, which was a lovely touch, as well as a pirate work folder to keep busy. AMAZING.
Next experience was the Spa and Swimming Pool. The gentleman we met was a young man called Josh. He was very polite also, (theme running in this hotel) and he made sure the little ones had towels, proceeded to tell us about the lockers and explained them to us, and just made us feel like the SPA/POOL was not just a special add-on, but included in the hotel stay. Yes the swimming pool area might need a miniature refresh, but it was great to have the waddles, the sauna and the steam room all functioning. There is even a children pool, and little chairs to sit on.
The evening meal at the Coal and Grill was equally amazing. The gentleman behind the bar, Simon, clearly was busy, but he ensured that all of us had the absolute right drink, as well as a cup of milk for the little ones. I mean come on this is brilliant service and I am not the King of England. Also, Connor, being his first week, was very prompt and polite and engaged in conversation with us and made us feel delighted to be there. Matthew was also very helpful the supervisor in ensuring we had exactly what we wanted.
The food selection was good, and the food that came out was to a very good standard. The children were very happy.
Likewise in the morning the Breakfast Staff even 5 minutes prior to closing, managed to sort out my little one with a couple of muffins and most importantly my god-daughters watermelon.
Overall this Hotel was a 5* experience, and we shall definitely be staying again. Well Done Marriott”

“This was my second visit to this hotel for a spa day as a gift from my friend - really disappointed. The spa treatments were great, however, the rest of the day not. The changing rooms & showers were not clean and they smelt awful. No bags to use for wet swimming costumes. No products in the showers, the tiles around the swimming pool were cracked & the steam room out of use. Needless to say I will not use this hotel for spa packages again.”
