The beach is only 200 metres away from this luxury hotel. Situated on the cliff of Ponta de Cruz somewhat outside Funchal, the hotel affords wonderful views. The town centre is 3 km away. Links to the public transport network lie just 50 m away, whilst restaurants and shops may be found within 100 m of the hotel. The airport is approximately a 35-minute drive away. It is only 30 minutes on foot from Formosa beach and has direct access to Promenade do Lido, the famous promenade in Madeira. Surrounded by magnificent gardens is the island's largest outdoor saltwater swimming pool with views of the sea. The hotel has a Spa, with a Jacuzzi, sauna, gym, Turkish bath and even a panoramic indoor swimming pool, in addition to massages and/or spa treatments.

“Que dizer deste hotel ? Excelente estadia . Quartos espaçosos, bonitos e bem decorados, de grande conforto. Bom ar condicionado, excelentes camas e têxteis, com bom jogo de almofadas. Boa piscina de água salgada e otimos recantos no jardim para se descansar .Bom pequeno-almoço sem reparos,bastante variedade e produtos bem escolhidos. Cozinha de esmerada qualidade na execução dos pratos. Otimo SPA , boa piscina interior, ginásio bem equipado, staff de elevada simpatia e profissionalismo. Sem dúvida a voltar”

“The accommodation is excellent but the breakfast is mediocre for 5* and badly laid out. Coffee and tea are via 3 machines. The queues are often 5-6 people deep. The hot water for tea should be separate hot water urns this would eliminate 50% of the queue. The food area is inadequately planned with people getting in each other's way. It seemed the breakfast facilities did not match the number of guests. My special beef is that the majority of fruit appeared to be tinned and only once did I see a fresh apple or pear. Bananas were plentiful. In addition to the above the entertainment was naff. Old cronies who would not be out of place in an East end pub in the 50s. Basically cost saving by Pestana took the shine off my stay. BTW the courtesy bus to Funchal was also axed. Staff were pleasant though.”
