O hotel muito fraco de animação. Os funcionários sempre mal dispostos excepçãodas meninas da cafeteria e garçon José Luís.A água da praia chega só até cintura è ótima para crianças e para idosos. Não há lugares a sombra,toalhas da praia estão sempre esgotadas. O pessoal e extremamente rude.

We stayed one week at Catalonia Gran Dominicus and had our destination wedding there. Andry, our wedding planner, was extremely supportive and efficient in helping us plan our dream wedding. Since the beginning, she answered promptly all our questions and organized every detail of our wedding. She went above and beyond to accommodate our preferences. We were very happy to collaborate with her in planning our wedding. Since then, she became our friend. We could not have thought of a better location for our wedding than Catalonia Gran Dominicus. I love the service the staff at the Merenguero bar gave me & my family. They were sweet ( I will mention their name at the end) kind, & very welcoming. They even memorized my favorite drink. I love it here & I totally recommend this group of staff. Leonel, Maribel, Melvin, Luis Alexandro, Gabriel, Veronica, Esthefani, & Rossy. Thank you for making me feel at home. Such a loving staff. I always wait for one of them to serve me, it felt like I knew them.

We stayed 4 days and 3 nights. We loved the place and we’re considering to come back. The service is excellent and the pool and beach quality went beyond our expectations. This resort is perfect for couples with small children. They offer child care for kids 3 and above, but my 2 year old was good enough to stay with his 4 y/o sister. Every employee is friendly and hospitable, they really made all in their power to provide for all our needs.

Tive umas férias excelentes com a minha família. A praia é muito boa, a paisagem, a comida, os quartos de hotel. Todas as noites há bastante animação para todas as idades. Os animadores são muito atenciosos, tivemos o prazer de passar tempo com os animadores dominicanos Jonathan, Samuel, Nisaury. Não esquecendo que há animadores que vem de frança e/ou Itália também, que foram muito acolhedores, em especial o Nil que nos fez sentir como se estivéssemos em casa.

We really loved our time at the Catalonia royal la Romana. The Hotel is very clean, everything is modern and the food was excellent. Especially the service was really good and friendly. People like Lee made our stay very special because they tried to make every wish come true and cared a lot. We will definitely come back.

Please don’t stay at any Catalonia resort! I waited almost a year to write this review and I am still angry! A week after my trip to DR my brother stayed at one of their resorts in Mexico and had the same complaints. Trash bars! one bar in the whole resort filled with the worst liquor you can imagine so cheap and watered down it literally makes you sick to your stomach. Prison quality food ! Which will also leave you on the toilet all night. The rooms are so small definitely not suites as advertise. I heard multiple people complain about the size of their rooms. I asked the front desk to upgrade, I was happy to pay more for the extra space. I was basically laughing at. Come to find out different prices all the same size rooms. A** backwards customer service. The grounds are beautiful the shower was nice but everything else from the entertainment to the excursions were subpar. Worst vacation ever! Catalonia please do better. I had stomach issues for months after my trip. It took three different rounds of antibiotic to semi recover.

La calidez en la atención de todos los colaboradores del hotel y la hermosa playa hacen que la estadía sea casi perfecta. Destacar el trabajo de los chicos de animación y de los garzones de todos los restaurantes. Siempre con una sonrisa. El hotel tiene mucho por mejorar en sus habitaciones, cómo por ejemplo las camas que suenan demasiado, el secador de pelos que nunca nos funcionó y la caja de seguridad que estaba fuera de servicio. De todas formas fueron unas lindas y excelentes vacaciones. Muy recomendado.

Nuestra estadía fue espectacular, tanto por la playa que tiene un color turquesa hermoso como por el hotel que es muy cómodo. Pero lo más importante fue el grupo de animación que nos hizo sentir como en casa, siempre atento a nuestras necesidades, muy amables y continuamente trabajando con alegría

The entertainment is great! They have different shows every night and always have good music playing. The animación team are very nice people and keep the show going with dancing and all kinds of activities. You will not get bored here!

The guest service was very good. Yveline was incredibly helpful and tried a lot to satisfy customers. Also the service in all restaurants was very good, with very good staff. Especially Candy was a fantastic person (in terms of conduct and communication) and I would assume she had professional training in service

Great Resort, very beautiful! Activities throughout the day at the pool gymnastics and at the beach! Every night different activities. Loved the resort itself very beautiful, rooms are clean and cozy with a balcony. Great for couples less for families with kids, the kids club closed however they still have some activities for kids, coloring at the beach mini disco etc but they do not have any water slides for kids. Food is ok but pizza and Rodeo steakhouse was our favorite.

Na chegada conseguimos um up grade, o que já nos deixou muito felizes. Quarto ok, estrutura do resort muito boa. Alimentação nos restaurantes com muitas opções… o que deixou um pouco a desejar é que não tem muitos petiscos disponíveisnos bares próximos a praia e piscina… o que em um resort All inclusive, faz falta. O atendimento em geral é muito bom. Algumas pessoas muito mal humoradas, mas pra compensar, algumas pessoas foram maravilhosas, em especial Ismael do bar da piscina, Natanael e Feliz, dos restaurantes. Estes fizeram muito a diferença na nossa trip! Pessoal da recreação dá um show, literalmente!

La animación es excelente. Los chicos animan todo el ambiente. Las habitaciones en clase privelege son muy buenas y modernas.

La playa del hotel es hermosa, la mejor de la zona y la animación es realmente excelente. La habitación es muy cómodapero no reponían las cosas aunque se pidiera. El servicio no es el mejor, la comida es muy básica y poca variedad, no tiene nada de mariscos. Además tuve un problema con el test te covid qué una de laschicas del hotel se equivocó en la fecha que tenía que hacérmelo y tuve qué pagar más para tener el resultado, nadie se hizo responsable. La atención en el puesto de deportes acuáticos no motorizados es muy mala, siempre tienen un pero para no prestarte las cosas.

O hotel era bastante tranquilo e arrojado. Os restaurantes eram variados e os empregados de mesa muito simpáticos e prestáveis, especial agradecimento ao Samuel. Na praia havia sempre alguém a passar e a perguntar se desejávamos alguma coisa e o Pablo é muito simpatico também. Lo mejor, la playa, la piscina y el personal de animacion y de los restaurantes. Especial mencion a Lisset y Rossy del Merenguero. Ambas nos han tratado excelentemente. Superatentas, super efficient, con siempre una sonrisa en la cara…y Rossy prepara los mejores mojitos del Merenguero. Suerte y Felicidades por tenerlas! Las habitaciones estandard dejan mucho que desear. Muebles viejos, rotos, aire acondicionado muy ruidoso. En la zona del bufet no hay ventiladores y ante dias de calor es muy incomodo. Deberian procurar que los pajaros no se cuelen en la zona del bufet, pues en ocasiones se pasean por la zona de las bandejas llenas de comida. En resumen buena experiencia, pero tienen muchas cosas a mejorar.

Estuve reciente del 1-3 de septiembre con mis hijos, , no dire que todo fue malísimo; pero fue una mala experiencia. No limpiaron la habitación, el servicio al cliente súper malo, desde el lobby hasta los bantender, el personal te trata dependiendo el color de tu brazalete.Las bebidas no son para nada buena, compre un paquete privilege y de privilege no tenia NADA. No se molesten en llamar a room servicié, yo tuve que llamar desde mi celular para poder comunicarme con recepción estando en el mismo hotel 🥺🙄.Dos personas a mencionar, Darlin en el restaurante Taíno y la Máquina de animación, ellas nos dieron excelente atenciones.Para el hotel no estar lleno ni mucho menos, entiendo que el servicio debióser mucho. mejor.

Además nos pareció seguro, pues la limpieza es buena considerando la situación de pandemia, muy prolijos. La bienvenida es tosca y sin mucha atención, nadie te dice que tienes disponible y dónde están las cosas, no es una buena introducción al hotel. El hotel solo tiene una piscina, para entrar al snack tiene que ser vestido y calzado lo que es una molestia si una está en la piscina y en la playa y no se puede sacar comida al área de la piscina. Los horarios del snack son muy inconsistentes, abre a las 11:00 am y cierra a las 6:00 pm hasta las 10:45 pm que vuelve abrir, debería de ser corrido por cuestiones de que dichos snacks no están en el buffet. Hacer una reservación para cenar en un restaurante a la carta tambien es un gran inconveniente. El servicio al cliente es deficiente, excluyendo algunas personas que sirven las comidas y en el bar, el otro personal no es del todo amable. En las habitaciones deberían de percatarse que tenga todo lo necesario, los contenedores de jabón y shampoo estaban vacíos a mi llegada y luego al día siguiente solo pusieron dos pequeños recipientes que no fueron del todo suficiente. Cabe destacar que la comida tiene bien sabor pero no hay gran variedad de mariscos. Algunos de los empleados tratan diferente a los locales.Sin embargo, el equipo de animación y sus show ha sido muy entretenido y bueno. En conclusión es un hotel que no recomendaría.Welcoming is poor of attention, nobody says what you have available or where is it, it's not the best welcome. There are just one pool in the whole hotel. To go to the snack you must be dress and footwear which is an annoyance. Also, if you are in the pool or in the beach you can't take food from the snack to those areas. The snack hours are very inconsistent, it opens at 11:00 am and closes at 6:00 pm until 10:45 pm when it reopens, it should be run due to the fact that said snacks are not in the buffet. Making a dinner reservation at an a la carte restaurant is also a major inconvenience. Customer service is poor, excluding some people serving meals and at the bar, the other staff are not at all friendly. In the rooms they should realize that I have everything you need, the soap and shampoo containers were empty upon my arrival and then the next day they only put two small containers that were not quite enough. It should be noted that the food tastes good but there is not a great variety of seafood. some of them have different treat with the locals. However, the animation team and their show has been very entertaining and good. In conclusion it is a hotel that I would not recommend.

Servicio amable, y la animación muy divertida, Francisco (el animador) es muy respetuoso, divertido y el alma de la fiesta. Interactúa con los clientes siempre con amabilidad y respeto. Hermoso resort, bastante grande, tiene unos jardines frondosos y muy hermosos. Habitaciones muy cómodas con vista al jardín y bonito diseño para las mismas. Muy limpio todo, incluyendo las habitaciones.La piscina es de agua tibia, lo que la hace deliciosa.😍 Excelente para ir con niños. De más esta decir que tienen disponible una de las mejores playas.El servicio del personal excelente, muy amables y diligentes. Nosotros tuvimos un inconveniente técnico con la habitación que elegimos y por el contratiempo nos cambiaron a una superior que estaba maravillosa. 💕 La comida deliciosa, sobre todo el pescado que preparan. Por igual todas las bebidas y los tragos. ❤ El equipo de animación muy divertido. Sin duda volveré pronto!

Extraordinary stay in the Dominican Republic! The food was very good and varied at every restaurant. Generally, there was a diverse menu between the restaurants and at the bar with a lot of different cocktails. The hotel has done everything to make you feel safe regarding the Corona pandemic and has taken security precautions. The whole complex was clean and tidy and had a beautiful beach area. The staff was very accommodating, helpful and friendly.... no matter how many cocktails were ordered. :-) I would especially like to mention the animation team around Carlos, Cileni and Samuel with their positive and motivated attitude. The evening at the bar was always very entertaining and inclusive for anyone who wanted. Personal wishes (songs, birthdays, etc.) were always taken into account and included in the evening program. The only negative point was the fact that sometimes the room was not made and we had to order new towels from the reception in the evening. But that did not detract from the good mood and the great vacation. :-)

Samuel was extraordinary! So much fun to be around and very funny and helpful. The staff was warm, loving, thoughtful, and considerate of every aspect of our trip and well being. They made our trip safe, SO fun, and extremely incredible! ❤️

Nice beach, nice pool. Food is great. Got placed in a room where most things didn’t work, went to reception and got changed to a fully functioning room. Staff is great but a little more attention to the costumers in the restaurants would be nice.

Pros: Hotel is very nice, staff is kind and helpful most of the time. Food is excellent, very tasty with a lot of options. Beach and sea are really clean, sand with no rocks. The entertainment team is great and friendly. Cons: It's not a place where you can get a good rest. Every night there is some entertaining show, but it's always unnecessarily very noisy! The music with voices in microphone sound like it's in your room. If you want to sleep at 10 pm there's no chance. Very annoying. Also during the day if you want to rest a little on the beach, you can't because of loud music. On top of this we didn't have the room prepared when we arrived. No water, no toilet paper, no soap. Just an opened bottle of water in the fridge. (And we weren't the only ones.) Summary: It's really nice place with delicious food and good entertaining program. But don't come here if you like to go to bed before midnight or you like to rest on calm beach.
