“The staff is friendly and helpful, but the hotel felt dirty and pretty run down. The rooms were so tiny. Maybe it’s a New York thing, but goodness the space is very tight. The coffee pot was broken, there wasn’t a breakfast option at all (free, paid, or room service). I booked a room here specifically for the amenities advertised, such as a bar and restaurant, but it was closed for our entire weekend stay. The location is pretty good with many things within walking distance and easy access to public transportation. The parking options are not plentiful however and the lot the hotel contracts with was full and pretty pricey. For 24-hours it’s about $30, but that’s only if you do not leave the lot. After driving around on a Friday afternoon for a couple hours searching desperately for a place to park, we spoke to a gentleman who works at the hotel. He offered free parking in front of the hotel (named commercial zone) for the evening, which we ended up being able to keep there for the entire weekend at no charge. Note: if you’re a unfamiliar with how the parking in New York works, it is FREE nearly everywhere on weekends ONLY. Weekdays, however, it’s hard to find and very pricey ($30 is the cheapest I saw).”

“We went to NYC for the Whitney Biennial and chose to stay here for the combination of its location and price. At $179 per night it was one of the more reasonably priced hotels in this part of Manhattan. We received a text while still on the train that our room was ready early. This was much appreciated, even if we wouldn't arrive until after the regular check in time of 3 p.m. Check in staff was prompt and courteous. The room was SMALL. No more than 12 x 12. Enough room for a king sized bed, two night stands, a desk and an armoire. There was just enough room to walk around the bed and that's about it. The room and bathroom were both clean and in good condition, though we did note that the door had a rather large gap around the frame. We stayed only one night, and I would suggest that unless you're a solo traveler, one or two nights is about all you'd want to stay in a room this small. But it was perfect for our purposes. Check out was as fast and courteous as check in.”
