“Stay here if you like stinkbugs as roommates, and a general manager who doesn't care about their clients. I checked in on a Friday evening at approximately 8 PM, went to grab dinner, and came back to notice multiple stinkbugs on the wall of my room. I promptly walked down to the front desk and was informed that the hotel was completely booked, and that the only thing they could do was have maintenance spray the room when they got there in the morning and have the manager credit my account with some points. This was a work stay, and I debated contacting the corporate travel agency to find another location, but at this point it was after 9 PM and I had to get up at 5 the next day, so I just decided to bite the bullet and keep the room. Fast forward, and there was no indication that the maintenance staff had done anything when I returned the next day (still had some unwanted roommates). This whole situation happened two weekends ago, and as of 11/2/22 the general manager, Cassandra Berrios, hasn't bothered to reach out about the situation, and there have been no additional points added to my Marriott account for having bugs in the room. I stay in hotels about 80 nights a year for work, and this is the first time I've seen anything like this, both regarding the bugs in the room and the unwillingness of management to try and remedy the situation as their front desk employee said they would. Next time I'm in Gastonia I'll just stay a few minutes further away and book at one of the Charlotte hotels that I usually use, and I'd advise friends and acquaintances to do the same.”

“I always stay at Fairfield because of its cleanliness and staff. We were so tired last night and just wanted to relax and crash. I had to go out to Walmart to get toilet paper because the paper here must have come from outhouses. It’s so thin and rough. Really ridiculous. I went down this morning for my free breakfast and had to beg the girl to put food out. I was very disappointed. Also no biscuits or bread with breakfast. Disappointed.”
